Food and Wine matching at the Melting Pot

Recently we held a wine and food matching workshop with Jean-marie Pratt (Ex Gordon Ramsay) and Gem Wines. Demand out stripped supply with us needing to host a 30 seat daytime session and a whopping 60 seat session in the evening so that we could give as many people as possible the chance to take part this exclusive workshop.

Nosh Chef James Patterson prepared a tasting menu of 5 dishes comprising of White bean and truffle soup with pancetta crisp, Chermoula Spiced Salmon fillet with preserved lemon and watercress, Slow cooked pork with celeriac mash, Shropshire blue cheese with Blackberry compote and then followed it with a small desert of rich Chocolate pots. Corey Hall - Wine Maker from Gem wines then gave us the inside story on the wonderful range of boutique handmade wines that we would be tasting.

Things then got down to business with James and Corey discussing each aspect of the menu along with the specifics of the wines as we went, while Jean-Marie guided us through the tasting matches while giving us insights into the art of the expert Sommelier and in a Michelin starred restaurant.

The workshop delivered a wealth of information and also consisted of an intensive question and answer session providing further insights for all present.
